Champion Her Game creates practical support and tools for grassroots coaches of girls' teams.

From a single small squad to an established club, and from coaches with years of experience to those coaching girls for the very first time, we give coaches tangible support, real insight into their players, and simple tools that make the human side of coaching easier.

Because when coaches are supported, more girls stay in sport.

Who we are

We're not for the elite. We're for everyone else.

The elite already have their support. We're here for grassroots sport, and for the coaches and girls who make it happen every week:

  • the volunteer coach giving up their evenings and weekends
  • the shy girl on the sideline who isn't sure she belongs
  • the hard worker who never gets the spotlight

Our story

Built by someone who noticed

Champion Her Game was founded by Melissa Osborn, a footballer who spent years being the first pick, and spent those same years noticing the ones who weren't.

She heard the negativity directed at girls in sport. She saw the opportunities that weren't there. And she saw the extraordinary effort of coaches, parents and clubs trying to create them anyway, often with very little support.

Champion Her Game started by helping girls feel seen. Now we're making sure they're heard, and that the coaches who keep them in the game are supported too.

Why it matters

Why supporting coaches keeps girls in sport

Girls drop out of sport at higher rates than boys, especially in their teenage years. The reasons girls give include:

  • self-consciousness and body image
  • fear of being judged
  • not feeling they belong
  • losing confidence
  • social pressure
  • a lack of visible role models

Many of these are shaped by the environment around her, and the person with the most influence over that environment is her coach.

Coaches give their time for free, often with very little training in the human side of coaching girls. That's the gap we exist to fill: practical support, real insight and simple tools, so coaches can spend less time guessing and more time helping every girl enjoy her sport.

Girls in sport become leaders in the world. We cannot afford to lose them.

Both. A single coach with one squad can use it on their own, and club memberships are coming soon so established clubs can support all their coaches and girls' teams together.
